Introduction
Welcome to the official
website of the 12th Annual APRIA Conference, hosted by the School
of Actuarial Studies, Australian School of Business at the University
of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia.
The UNSW
Actuarial Program in the Australian School of Business is very proud
to be able to host the 12th Annual APRIA Conference. We have established
a reputation for excellence in teaching programs at both undergraduate
and postgraduate and for the international contribution of our research
program. We look forward to a stimulating program of plenary and
concurrent sessions in July 2008 and invite academics and practitioners
in risk management, insurance and actuarial science from around
the world, and in particular from Asia Pacific, to join us in Sydney
for this important regional conference.
The Asia-Pacific Risk and Insurance
Association (APRIA) was created in 1997 to provide a means for
all persons and entities with an interest in risk management, insurance,
actuarial science, and related areas to share ideas and to engage
in collaborative research for the ultimate benefit of the insurance
industry.
APRIA is international, drawing members from throughout the world, but particularly from Asia-Pacific countries. The Association invites participation in its annual conference from all countries, academics, executives, researchers, and government leaders willing to share ideas and to engage in collaborative research for the ultimate benefit of the insurance industry.
APRIA offers individual memberships as well as Institutional Memberships. APRIA members come from countries in Asia-Pacific, Africa, Europe and North America. You may apply for membership online at APRIA. A discounted registration for the conference is available for members and we strongly encourage all those attending the conference to take advantage of the reduced APRIA member registration by joining the Association.
The Association publishes
its own journal, Asia-Pacific
Journal of Risk and Insurance, biannually. The inaugural issue
was published in June 2005.
