Supervisor: Professor Michael Sherris

Calvin completed his BSc in Actuarial Science at City University in London. His final year honours project was "Pricing Arithmetic Asian Options by Monte Carlo Simulation using C++". After graduating he worked for Ernst and Young in Hong Kong.

John Livanas

Research Topic: Behavioural Finance Implications in Superannuation

Supervisors: Professor Michael Sherris and Associate Professor John Evans

John holds a Masters of Business Administration, and a Bachelor of Science (Electrical Engineering), both from the University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa. He has also completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Finance and Investments through the Securities Institute of Australia. He is Fellow of Finsia, and a member of the Funds Executives Association of Australia (FEAL).

John has over 20 years investment and financial services experience gained in financial services and multinational corporations in Australia and overseas. Prior to arriving in Australia 15 years ago, John was Director of Investments and Member Services for SEBO, a $3bn South African Superannuation and Pension Fund. He joined SEBO from Deloitte Haskins and Sell where he was a Principal Consultant in Financial Services.Over the last 5 years, John Livanas has been General Manager: Client Services of FuturePlus Financial Services, an Australian Financial Services organisation.

John has held a number of board positions on Private Equity companies including Craft Press and Bod Investments, and continues to present in Asia on Behavioural Finance Implications in portfolio management.

Carolyn completed her B. Sc. Actuarial Science with 1st Class Honours and her M. Sc. Applied Statistics both from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, Kenya. She is a member of The Actuarial Society of Kenya (TASK).

Jimmy (Jun) Feng

Research Topic: Reverse Mortgage in China

Supervisors: Professor John Piggott and Professor Michael Sherris

Jimmy completed his Bachelor of Business Adiminstration in Information System from Fudan University, China. During undergraduate years, he participated in The Chun-Tsung Scholar Program and completed a research project on "The Benefit Distribution of Value Chain in Mobile Commerce". After graduation, he joined the Fudan-UNSW program for further study at UNSW.

Amandha holds a Bachelor of Science (Physical Sciences) from the Universityof Colombo, Sri Lanka and a Masters of Actuarial Studies from UNSW. His research  nterest includes quantifying operational risk in financial services industry, Australian annuities market and pension economics.
